Covington City Hall Construction Tour

$15.00

Join us on June 9th at 4:00 p.m. to tour the new Covington City Hall!

Covington, founded in 1815, is Kentucky’s fifth-most populous city and the largest in Northern Kentucky, located just across the river from Cincinnati. Over the past 50 years, Covington City Hall has moved five times, often to inadequate locations that did not fully support the critical mission of public service. Currently, City Hall is housed in a converted J.C. Penney department store—a temporary solution that began in 2013 and has now stretched into more than a decade. Given Covington’s rich history, architectural beauty, and diverse population, the city government needed a visible, accessible, and central location.

This project is a three-story, 41,000-square-foot building that will serve as a much-needed permanent home for the Covington City Government. The design blends historical charm with modern functionality: the exterior will feature a limestone and granite stone façade, while a large glass curtain wall will add a touch of contemporary elegance. Inside, the three-story atrium opens up to all three floors to connect with the different local government agencies along with new council chambers and offices for government officials. Two spacious outdoor balconies will offer employees a place to enjoy fresh air, and a large courtyard at the front of the building will welcome the public and provide an ideal space for press conferences and community events.

Brandstetter Carroll, Inc. and Elevar Design Group have teamed up to design the new City Hall, with Pepper Construction as the construction manager.
